many people have posted today about remembrance, poppies, wars, peace and loved ones.

the words i appreciated the most, i found here (scroll down a bit for the section in bold type). this year i have found the acts of remembrance more meaningful, not because i have ever lost anyone to war; my grandparents and their siblings all survived and no-one else in my family has been in the forces, but because a very dear friend is currently serving in afganistan as an army doctor.

this year, i have thought so often of her, of her lovely family, of her husband of just a year, and i pray hard for her safety.
